The Horse

Rhiannon, another significant figure, is often depicted riding a white horse and is associated with sovereignty, enchantment, and the Otherworld. Macha, a goddess associated with sovereignty and war, possesses a powerful horse-like aspect, known for her incredible speed and strength.

At Heron Drums, we work with natural materials and animal hides - this way the strength and the spirit of the animal and the tree live on in these sacred medicine tools. All of the hides and woods for our shamanic medicine tools are ethically and sustainably sourced, meaning that the hides are sourced from horses that have died naturally or wild culled stags or reindeer, where the hides are otherwise discarded, and the wood for the sticks is from sustainably managed forests.
